The fact that none of this has come at any obvious expense to anyone's lives or livelihoods only serves to drive that point home even further, easily making it the most painful part of the entire problem.WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Mighty Morphin #13, available now from Boom! Studios. In fact, it looks as though he is genuinely doing a better job of keeping Angel Grove safe than Zordon or the Power Rangers ever did.
The Rangers are certain that the bottom is just waiting to fall out from under the city's new leadership at any moment, and they could be right, although that could very likely come as a result of their own actions rather than any Lord Zedd might take. Even the jagged, intimidating Chaos Putties have taken to the task of planting trees. Humans and monsters are happily working side by side on building reconstruction, infrastructure repair, and even city beautification, and no one seems forced in any way. It would be easy enough to assume that any of Lord Zedd's monstrosities that are keeping the peace by force are acting on the whims of a malevolent authority, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Angel Grove isn't clear of monsters, but they aren't harming anyone, either. None of what they discover meets their expectations, although that doesn't seem to be a bad thing.
While the others stay behind, Tommy, Aisha, and Zelya make a hasty exit from the fray to get a closer view of the city. The serene scenery is interrupted by the arrival of enemy forces led by Goldar and the Green Ranger, forcing the Rangers to split up in order to stay on task. Once inside, the heroes find the opposite of what they expected, with the much anticipated chaos and destruction having been replaced with clean streets lining the picturesque city skyline. Oddly enough, none of this has come as the result of some sort of devious machination, but rather from the genuinely good work being done by Lord Zedd.Īpart from Billy working tirelessly back at the Command Center, the Power Rangers have finally made their way through the dome and into Angel Grove. Adding insult to injury, the few allies that the heroes had left have formed shocking alliances with Zedd and his maniacal forces, putting the Rangers at odds with one of their oldest enemies as well as former friends.
